The Power of Synergy and Methods
Here are hundreds of management methods available, however do you know which to use, when and HOW?
Most management methods are used in isolation and generally produce lackluster benefits; they become the Flavor of the Month soon to be abandoned and forgotten.
Management Methods must be well understood and carefully selected. When the selected management methods are arranged in parallel and/or in the correct sequence, their impact on results is greatly enhanced than when used individually and in isolation; synergy kicks in. The links and dependency between them must be well coordinated to produce the expected outcome that prevent the root problems – the symptoms – from re-emerging.
The methods I will be discussing are the 80-20 Rule (ABC and XYZ), Kraljic Matrix, BCG Matrix, SWOT Matrix, and Ansoff Matrix; first individually, then HOW to sequence and coordinate the methods to create decision-making synergy for sound Strategic and Planning and strong Operations synergy to support it.
